This is the brief story of a zinnia flower.
A flower I appreciate for its vibrant colours, gorgeous petal formation and, in the case of the single zinnia, the tiny yellow flowers which form in the heart of the flower.
Butterflies are attracted to zinnias and I love butterflies too.
Some time ago, I needed to choose a pseudonym for an online site and discussion group I joined.
I chose 'Zinnia'.
When I started this blog in 2010, using the same pseudonym just seemed to fall into place.
Now I have decided to come back home to me - and from today, I shall be using my own name
which is Sandra!
As you see, I am not a zinnia flower... though in truth I feel at one with all flowers!
Within a caterpillar resides the future butterfly
and within this zinnia resides a person!
Although the flower label has been put aside. I am still who I ever was and still am
with an 'S' instead of a 'Z'!
Sandra
Hi Sandra
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely story and very nice flower, i like these two pictures very much.
i'am glad that i can follow this nice blog.
Wish you a sunny and nice wednesday,
Bye, Joop
Hello Joop, nice to have you here! The day is sunny and lovely and although I work this afternoon, I shall be able to go out walking afterwards to take advantage of the lovely longer evenings now and more sun time! I hope you are getting sunny days too. Sandra
ReplyDeleteGood morning newborn Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI'll still be thinking Zinnia, but call you Sandra to your face :-)
Thanks for the email. I have another question for you tomorrow, when I have more time.
Hello Hannah, I'll look out for your message!
DeleteIt's rather nice being newborn! I feel quite renewed!
Hi, Sandra, it's nice to know your name, and I think Zinnia was also appropriate. Those 2 photos are beauties! You asked what lens I was using on my resent post. I used a Sigma 150-500mm. I just got it recently, after wanting one for a long time, and I'm loving it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling me which lens you used for those shots, Connie. The photos you are taking with it are certainly stunning!
DeleteHi Sandra, your two pictures are lovely as is the Zinnia flower - I can see why the butterfly is attracted to it.
ReplyDeleteYou picked a nice way to introduce yourself. I was never sure whether to call you Sandra or Zinnia on your blog but now I can :))
It's nice to see a picture too. Have a good day!!!
Sandra, these are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe detail you have captured in the first one is just amazing.
P.S. You'll always be Zinnia to me!! :-) :-)
Well Lisa, there is still a zinnia flowering inside of me, even without the name, it's still there! Those first two shots of the zinnia flowers were taken with my first digital point and shoot camera, a little Canon!
DeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteNo matter what you call yourself, it's lovely to be in the blog world with you. By the way, your header is lovely.
Joanna
It was lovely to capture that blue sky in the header picture and we have been blessed with three weeks of sunshine and blue skies... a late spring, but so worth the wait!
DeleteWell Gina, don't tell a soul, but I really am a flower just disguised as a person!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post my friend! Zinnia and Sandra - both are beautiful, and I still think of you as Zinnia, full well knowing you are Sandra. However, it is fun to have a pseudonym. :) Well told.
ReplyDeleteBeverly
You captured well, I like your shots that has a butterfly. I like your pen name Zinnia.
ReplyDeleteSandra/Zinnia, your photos are just stunning! If I had to attach myself to a flower, I'm not sure which one I'd choose. I'll have to give it some more thought :) XOL
ReplyDeleteHi SAnra... your photo show you as a happy person as does this post. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteSandra it's a beautiful name, as well as your smile!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of yourself! I love your comment, "don't tell a soul, but I really am a flower just disguised as a person!" What a delight!! It's so interesting to know what objects people strongly identify with; it's evident that your soul is in the shape of a flower. :):)
