An Explosion of Petals

These photos are taken from a lakeside park in the town of Morges.
Every year there is a magnificent Tulip Festival.
The choice of flowers is immense and I had to choose just a few of them here.

Some of the centres of the flowers quite take my breath away.
The flower photos need no accompanying text,
just scroll down and enjoy them!

The fresh green leaves of spring are reflected in the water

The faraway view was a little hazy, but if you look directly above
the post on the left, in the dip in the mountains,
the well-known Mont Blanc mountain can be seen.

This is the main path which goes alongside the lake and all around
the whole park.

I rather liked this very unusual green tulip.

Fresh green leaves which have just unfurled

Today, Sunday, there were barrel organs and singers dotted around the park
giving a very joyful atmosphere!

These were my favourites!

    1. Thank you, Tammie, for your kind comment! We got to the park really early before breakfast, so that it was lovely and quiet and devoid of all the crowds. Then we had breakfast out and returned to see the barrel organists and hear their songs!

  5. I enjoyed your tulips so very much. I missed the tulip season here, wasn't quite ready to get out. Many like tulip blooms when they are tight, but I like them as they open so I can see those gorgeous centers! How wonderful it must have been to be in the garden with the beautiful tulips and listening to live music!

    1. Thank you, Cathy. The tulip experience this year has been the most beautiful that I've ever seen it. There are still some lovely blooms to come. It isn't over yet! I like tulips when they start opening really wide too. Their centres are so incredibly lovely!

    1. The different types of tulips is quite astonishing. I agree. This year seems to be just the right temperatures, with not too much rain, for the tulips to last a very long time! Thank you for your visit, Michelle!
