On a hot day, there's nothing like a walk by the lake to make me feel cool again.
This is the port in the town of Morges.
The reflections and colours of the water make everything feel so harmonious.
A little border of pebbly beach and watching fluffy clouds collect over the mountain summits.
I love walking here where the river joins the lake.
The chestnut trees were in full bloom and looked so lovely against the sky.
The overhanging branches of a tree bring in some fresh green into the scene
creating my favourite colour combination of blue and green together!
So glad to take you with me down to the lake!
Do you have a favourite colour combination?
Such a lovely and tranquil post. Blue and Green are my Steve's favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Connie. The lakeside is so beautiful. I'm so glad that you and Steve love blue and green too! The colours of nature!
DeleteHad you asked me quite some time ago, I would have said without the hint of hesitation: blue and green. These still are, somehow, but I tend to stray every now and then... Teal and lilac would be high on my list today too. Pink for sure and burgundy (a lot of burgundy in my wardrobe)... Colours make me happy and therefore I find it hard to choose a favourite...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed the peaceful walk along the lake with me, Marie-Lucienne. Yes, colour is important in our lives and we all have our own favourites - which can also vary according to the time of the year or our own moods!
DeleteSuch beautiful photos. Everything looks so tranquil. I find it so peaceful being around water...
ReplyDeleteI agree, it can feel very peaceful being around water, especially when we are there without too many people milling around. Real peacefulness though, I feel in the countryside. I love to hear the birdsong and see the fluttering leaves and the blades of grass moving in a breeze!
DeleteWOW - very serene looking place. How wondeful.
ReplyDeleteWeather has been beautiful here.
Hugs, Sarn xxx
So glad the weather has been beautiful with you too, Sarn. It suddenly got quite hot here which will probably lead to a few storms at some point in time! Summer is almost here!
DeleteI too love blue and green together! Green leaves against a deep blue sky are such a satisfying sight.
ReplyDeleteThe lake looks so beautifully clear. Such lovely reflections of the boats.
So nice to see you, sue! Walking down by the lake on a sunny day is always a joy! Blues and greens are wonderful together. The fresh colours of nature!
Deletethese photos are so relaxing. it's hot where I am right now.
ReplyDeleteI like blues on blues like your lake photos here. blue always seems so serene to me.
have a lovely day.
Yes, it's lovely to walk by water when you're feeling hot! I agree that all the blues go very well together indeed. There are so many beautiful subtle nuances in blue!
Deletethat really does look like a lovely walk.
ReplyDeletethe water so lovely and inviting on a hot day.
I also enjoy where streams, rivers and creeks meet larger bodies of water.
lovely end of spring to you ~
thank you, Tammie. There's nothing like being near water when it starts to get hot. For peace, I prefer the countryside and I've started going there more often now with several modes of public transport.
DeleteAaahhh, so peaceful. I used to believe I was an ocean person. My husband and I like to vacation on a coastal island in the Low Country that has the ocean on one side and a river on the other. More and more, we find ourselves on the backside of the island, sitting on a deserted dock with no one else around, just watching the river flow by. Still, as relaxing as that is, my ideal is to be in the woodlands with a babbling brook nearby. We just haven't found that perfect place yet.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Sandra! Last June, we were in the 90s. This week, we’re in the 70s. I’m loving the extended spring weather!
Yes, it always feel peaceful to observe calm water and it's refreshing too when the weather is hot! However, like you, I love the countryside and woodlands and a babbling brook would be perfect! I can get into some beautiful woodlands by public transport from where I live and I have decided to make the effort and go there more often! You visited this area in my previous blog posting called "Fields of Green". When it's really hot I'll be walking in the woods!
DeleteEnjoy your extended spring weather! We are getting changeable weather right now which I don't mind!
That’s exactly how I feel—like I’m visiting when I read your posts and soak in your beautiful photos. I would love to visit Switzerland, and I keep the names of places you visit in the back of my mind. I would love to walk the roads and paths you walk and explore the towns you explore and see the views you see! Thank you for sharing!
DeleteYour photos certainly do surround us with that tranquil peaceful feeling of being by the water, Sandra. I especially love lakes and am much more a lake person than an ocean person. The ocean scares me a bit with its huge waves and unpredictability! Looks like June is a beautiful month for you over in Switzerland! It has been way too cool here, but I trust that summer is on its way :) Have a lovely weekend! Oh, and as far as favorite color combinations--I love blue with anything--blue and yellow, blue and white, blue and green ♥
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Carol, about the unpredictability of the sea and how it is a little scary sometimes, but also very beautiful! Our lake here can get pretty rough too when there are gale force winds and around my birthday in May, all boats were cancelled on the lake for three days because of those incredibly strong winds!
DeleteWe have just experienced a beautiful period of fine days, but now it seems we shall be experiencing some changeable weather with lower temperatures. I don't actually mind because I don't care for the extreme heat we've been getting in recent years!
I agree with you about colour combinations with blue and it does look great with yellow too!
