If I were a bird
I would contemplate the world
from a branch on high
and wonder why
so many humans
cannot see
the real meaning of life
the beauty
the simplicity.
If I were a bird
I would look up at the sky
and see the vastness
and the greatness of it all
and offer up thanks.
If I were a bird
I would sing a song
to celebrate life
to celebrate simplicity
to celebrate the awareness of it all.
I am a bird
sitting on a branch up high
Observing the human that I am
and wondering why.
Good words and BEAUTIFUL pictures Sandra......very well done again.
ReplyDeletewish you a nice weekend,
Hugs, Joop
What a wonderful post, Sandra! Your poetry goes so perfectly with your beautiful images. I love the graceful lines of the branches of the tree silhouetted against the sky! Brava!
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. Made me smile. I love silhouettes fo branches.
Wonderful pictures - I really like how the little bird is silhouted against the sky. You words are beautiful too and go with your pictures beautifully. You certainly have a lovely way with words.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend. :))
Hi Sandra, what a beautifully worded post to go with your gorgeous as always photos! I love the drapey tree branches, against the beautiful blue skies, and the single bird in several poses "talking" to us. You've brought smiles to us, again. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, It looks like you even captured the bird singing in your third photo! What you have written is lovely and poetic and deep. It reminds me of the "me" I used to be a long time ago. Before we became adults and so "busy" in our lives. Your writing is a nice reminder to "live in the moment" a little bit more.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and great words.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post this is Sandra, and your images are so perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteReally beautifully done!
Sending you wishes for a wonderful start to your week!
xo.
What a great (and very imaginative) take on life as a bird. Well done! Talking of birds, I love this quote: "A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song." - Maya Angelou
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sophia! I love the Maya Angelou quotation. I have to order more of her books, her words are always so touching and inspirational.
