A Breakfast Invitation

How about a glass of cooled orange juice on a hot morning?
The croissants and crunchy buns are still warm just out of the oven.
Don't they smell good?

Breakfast is my favourite time of the day to invite friends and family!
Though I know that nobody is such an early bird as me.
I always ask them to come at a comfortable time for them.
Eight-thirty is good for some and the others stretch it out to be a bit later!

The best time of the year to do breakfast invitations is definitely now.
In fact, as soon as it's warm enough to eat outside on the balcony!

We've all been wilting under a prolonged heat-wave over here in Switzerland
so early-mornings are the best times for walks and eating outside.

Would you like to pop in for breakfast one day?
I'd love to have you over for a chat!
Do you prefer tea or coffee or maybe Peppermint or Lemon Verbena?
Just let me know before you come!
I still have a pot of homemade apricot jam leftover from last year
so don't wait too long!

Fresh as a daisy
On a balmy summer's day
Petal poetry.

  1. It's the pot of apricot jam left over from last year that prompted me to take up you virtual offer of breakfast. You make everything sound so delicious and the table is beautifully set.

  9. Oh you are such a tease. I am hungry and not sure what I will eat. Your invite looks and sounds wonderful! Tea or coffee please. Since it is morning, green tea or maybe Earl Gray. Sorry to hear it is so hot. That can be hard. So far our summer is delightfully warm. Though today will get quite hot.

    1. How does green tea with jasmine sound, Tammie? Since Sunday, our temperatures are gradually more bearable and the humidity is less intense. We could do with some rain - and I know that the sun worshipers will complain, but I shall put my nose in a book or pick up my crochet and listen to the soft pitter-patter outside and be gorgeously COOL!

    1. You are welcome anytime, Kim! I love to have visitors for breakfast and the birdsong in the early morning is a balm to the soul! Sometimes I make fruit crumble for breakfast on Sundays, it's nutty and nourishing and perfect in the summer! Yes, it would be really lovely to chat and exchange thoughts and philosophy!

  11. Oooh, I wouldn't mind getting an invitation either...
During the week breakfast happens in front of the laptop. My husband is long gone when I get up (he leaves at 5.25 I get up one hour later) and I'm no good to talk to this early. Luckily my youngest, who gets up when I'm out of the bathroom, needs his peace too. On weekends though, when my husband and I can have breakfast together, we celebrate it with fresh buns, orangejuice, some fruits and coffee...
    Have a lovely day,
    Marjan

    1. Thanks for popping in for a visit, Marjan! We all seem to have our breakfast rituals and they are often different during the week to on weekends! Sunday breakfast is my favourite because my road is much quieter than during the weekdays! I like to ring changes in the actual breakfast I eat. Croissants are an exception! I love fruit based breakfasts too!

  12. early breakfast? why not? I like hot drinks during the mornings but never coffee.

during the summer, I always wake up early because it's too warm to stay in bed but a nice breakfast would be like heaven. or brunch if there's air conditioning.

is that really your balcony in those photos? looks wonderful. I especially like the table setting with the cool blues which is just perfect & relaxing. there's probably a nice view from there right?

    have a lovely day.

  13. Hi Lissa! Yes, this is my balcony! I live in the town, so no, no nice view, but when I sit looking in one direction, I face a small park with trees! So that is definitely a nice view! When I pull the canvas blind right down I can no longer see the building right opposite mine. It's all about creating the atmosphere I most want to see!
Where we put our attention, there goes our energy!
So nice of you to drop by!
