Let's Walk Along the Lake

On a hot day, there's nothing like a walk by the lake to make me feel cool again.

This is the port in the town of Morges.

The reflections and colours of the water make everything feel so harmonious.

A little border of pebbly beach and watching fluffy clouds collect over the mountain summits.

I love walking here where the river joins the lake.

The chestnut trees were in full bloom and looked so lovely against the sky.

The overhanging branches of a tree bring in some fresh green into the scene

 creating my favourite colour combination of blue and green together!

So glad to take you with me down to the lake!

Let's go to Geneva

Here we are in the city of Geneva

with a view of the well-known landmark of the Jet d'eau (water-jet)

which rises to 140 metres (460 ft).

Wonderful to see and to feel the energy.

Crossing the Rhone River which flows into the lake,

called Lac Léman, towards the old part of town.

We could sit down at an outside terrace and have lunch

Let's do it!

Then a stroll through the Jardin Anglais (English Gardens)

and sit awhile on a bench.

The long-legged cyclist got that idea at the same time as I did!

What about a bike ride?

There's even a basket for a bottle of water and a bar of the best Swiss chocolate!

A boat pulls in

proudly flying the Swiss flag

Strong ropes are attached so that travellers can climb aboard.

The queue of waiting passengers starts to move

which gives me an excuse to leave the hustle and bustle

and concentrate on that lovely big boat chimney

and the captain's cabin.

That water-jet gets in all the captures!

...and off they go.

I love this phrase because it helps me let go of all preconceived ideas

of what I think things are and how they should be.

With an empty mind and an abstract eye,

I'm able to enter into the essence of a subject.

The image above was taken down by the lake, and what drew me in completely

were the gorgeous dancing reflections on the side of the boat

created by the moving water.

I stayed in this spot for a long moment, just immersing myself

in the beauty and aliveness of what was before me.

 and a contemplative mood

All yellow and blue

It was a windy day and the colourful bunting drew my attention

towards the sky.

There's something incredibly joyful about bunting flapping in the wind,

don't you think?

It's true, when we abandon our views

things are revealed to us in a truly magical way.
