Keeping cool

Water and the fresh green of ivy

Can you reach the waterfall with your fingers?

Feel the freshness on your face

" Under heaven nothing is more soft and yielding than water.
Yet for attacking the solid and strong, nothing is better
It has no equal.
The weak can overcome the strong
The supple can overcome the stiff."
(Lesson seventy-eight, Tao Te Ching)

Shallow water to cool our hot feet

Can you feel the little wavelets lapping around your ankles?
During the hot, hot days of summer
there is nothing better than water to energize us once again.

A book to read:
This is a book of wisdom written by Lao Tsu.
It is thought to have been written in the sixth century B.C.

How are you keeping cool these days?

  1. Those water images are so refreshing, Sandra! My fave is the shallow water pic....its abstract quality makes it very mysterious. The water fall is like a pane of wavy glass. Our weather is so cool here I'm happy to send some clouds and fog your way!

  3. I can almost hear that water from here, Sandra.
Our heat wave has broken now, and the last many days have been beautiful.
You can tell that summer is winding down though. The greens change quite dramatically.
    Happy day to you!

  5. Your water images are so refreshing and relaxing. It's certainly not easy keeping cool! Sometimes when I'm outside, I take my shoes off and soak my feet with the water hose!

  10. So lovely. That shallow water is just beautiful. We'll be needing this tomorrow, up to 32 apparently. Time to get the paddling pool out again (not quite as beautiful as your lovely pictures)!
