City girl behind curtains

When there is green outside, I like to pull back the curtains

A dragonfly hovers

Sometimes there is a tree outside

and when there is a building just a bit too close, a window box of flowers
brings a little of nature into my city world...

City girl
dreaming of nature
surrounding herself
with plants and flowers
being grateful
for a balcony
and Sundays
when the road she lives on
is almost quiet.
Almost
quiet.

  1. You're obviously an inventive city girl, finding the green and nature wherever you can. I admire your positive attitude. Lovely curtains!

  2. I love that you can hide what you don't want to see yet show what you do. Very pretty curtains. :))

  4. Those are beautiful curtains. Around here, Sunday is lawn-mowing day (grrr). Otherwise our village is pretty quiet.

I'm glad you have a balcony!

  8. This is a really nice and calming post Sandra! Love the curtain story, and how you pull it open or leave it closed. I do the same thing! Yes, and I enjoy Sunday mornings when no traffic is driving past the house, and the air is so quiet, and the birds are singing. Lovely!!

  9. What lovely windows you home!! Beautiful curtains! The butterfly in the last one looks like it just wants to go outside and play among those flowers!! Good for you for bringing nature to your home!
